Background
Except for stints away at college and abroad, I have lived my entire life in the Philadelphia area.
Work
The writerly life has led to an eclectic collection of jobs. I have worked in a variety of bookstores, both independents and the big chains. I have been an ESL teacher, envelope stuffer, antique seller, sole proprietor of a publishing business, and once a telemarketer for one week.
Education
I went away to college at The Catholic University of America on a violin performance scholarship and was a music major for one year. Then I switched to English, then once more to anthropology. I then acquired an MA from Rosemont College in English and publishing which included an internship at Penguin USA in New York.
Hobbies
I play the violin in the Lansdowne Symphony Orchestra. I write, write, write, read, read, read, rewrite, rewrite, rewrite, enjoy Downton Abbey, old Twilight Zone episodes, have practically every Seinfeld and Frasier episode memorized, and particularly enjoy old, out-of-print British novels written between the wars.
